Dasja is Professor of Viral Pediatric Infectious Diseases. She works at the Academic Medical Center of the Amsterdam University Medical Centers.
After finishing her PhD in 1996, Dasja obtained her post-graduate degree in pediatrics after which she subspecialized to become a pediatric infectious disease specialist-immunologist at the Amsterdam UMC in 2005. In 2010 she obtained her Master degree in Business Administration at the Rotterdam School of Management.
As a Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialist, she encounters the daily consequences of these diseases for the children as well as their families. This is Dasja’s continuing driving force to combine her clinical work with research and education.
Besides her love for science, Dasja is a great art lover and collector. She also enjoys cycling, eating good food and being surrounded by friends. She is married to Sander van Deventer and together they have three children – Mischa, Sascha and Zina.
